Personal Lines Production Binding Underwriter

Job Summary

Seeking experienced and driven Personal Lines Production Binding Underwriters to join a growing team. This role is focused on new business production and offers the opportunity to build and grow a book of business from the ground up. Ideal candidates will have strong marketing capabilities, proven sales ability, and a passion for developing relationships.

Compensation Package

  • Base Salary: $80,000 – $105,000 (up to $115,000+ for candidates with a significant book of business and strong relationships in Seattle)
  • Bonus Structure: Commission eligibility begins once revenue generated is 2x the base salary and covers support staff costs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive new business and renewals, including in-person visits, telemarketing, and targeted campaigns.
  • Evaluate, classify, and rate risks to determine acceptability, coverage terms, and pricing.
  • Submit underwriting referrals to brokerage facilities and internal leadership as needed.
  • Monitor key performance metrics (hit ratio, retention, premium growth, loss ratio) and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Mentor and train Assistant Underwriters to support team development.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of multi-line underwriting experience (E&S experience preferred).
  • Strong sales, marketing, and overall business acumen.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Active insurance license required; CPCU, CIC, or similar designations preferred.
