Job Summary

Seeking a highly experienced and motivated Liability Claims Manager to join a team. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of a claims team, managing workflow distribution, providing training and guidance, and ensuring claims are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling complex claims across multiple lines, including General Liability, Commercial Auto, Property Damage, Bodily Injury, and Litigation. This is a hybrid position, requiring three days per week in the office, with some flexibility for remote work.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $170,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the claims team, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with company standards.
  • Review and evaluate contractual documents to identify risk transfer opportunities and exposures.
  • Analyze and interpret policy conditions, exclusions, and endorsements to resolve coverage and liability issues.
  • Investigate claims, gather evidence, and provide proper documentation and reporting.
  • Review and adjust claim reserves to reflect potential exposure accurately.
  • Negotiate, settle, and resolve claims with claimants and insureds.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to the claims team to ensure high performance.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Collaborate with underwriting management to prepare and execute business plans and budgets.
  • Act as a management representative to promote the company’s mission, core values, and culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience handling claims in the following areas:
    • General Liability, Commercial Auto, Property Damage, Bodily Injury, Construction Defect, Oil & Gas, and other general casualty claims.
    • Complex coverage analysis and claims administration across multiple jurisdictions.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a claims team.
  • Strong understanding of contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.
  • Adjuster license required.
  • Professional designations such as CPCU or AIC are highly desirable.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in claims-related software and technology.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight trips, as required.
