General Liability Claims Team Lead

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Liability Claims Team Lead to join a team. This is an opportunity to lead a team of adjusters handling both litigated and non-litigated bodily injury liability claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general liability claims, leadership experience, and a commitment to excellence in claims management.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $145,000 per year (based on qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a remote team of 5-6 adjusters managing bodily injury liability claims.
  • Ensure appropriate claim handling, decision-making, and adherence to in-house processes.
  • Review and edit positional correspondence and escalated claims.
  • Collaborate with in-house counsel to interpret policy coverages and jurisdictional impacts.
  • Conduct training for new team members and provide continuous coaching and support.
  • Identify subrogation potential or fraud alerts and make appropriate referrals.
  • Participate in large loss and litigated matter reviews with Claims Supervisors and at Roundtable meetings.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and manage administrative responsibilities associated with team leadership.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience handling general liability claims.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience managing litigated matters.
    • Significant supervisory experience preferred.
  • Licensing: Active adjuster licenses required (FL or TX preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Proficiency in technology and computer systems.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Preferred: JD (Juris Doctor) degree is a plus but not required.
