Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and expand a profitable book of business.
- Serve as the primary contact for agency relationships, fostering strong client connections.
- Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to drive new and renewal business growth.
- Evaluate, rate, quote, and bind risks to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for both new and renewal accounts.
- Submit underwriting referrals to company brokerage facilities as needed.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, implementing corrective actions to optimize new business acquisition, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Associate Underwriters to enhance team performance.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience (excess & surplus lines experience preferred).
- Proven expertise in sales and marketing within the insurance industry.
- Possession of an insurance license, CPCU, CIC, or comparable designations is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional growth.
- Willingness to travel as necessary to build and maintain client relationships.
