Responsibilities

As a Senior Claims Specialist, you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial casualty claims from initial investigation through resolution.
  • Conduct detailed coverage, liability, damages, and exposure analyses using policy language and legal principles.
  • Establish accurate reserves and develop proactive resolution strategies.
  • Handle litigated claims in collaboration with defense counsel.
  • Negotiate settlements, mediations, and arbitrations independently.
  • Communicate effectively with policyholders, brokers, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports on claim status, financial exposure, and resolution plans.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
  • Participate in professional development and industry engagement opportunities.

Qualifications/Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should bring:

  • 5–10 years of experience in commercial general liability claims management.
  • Proven expertise in handling litigated claims.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Solid understanding of coverage analysis and litigation processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (JD is a plus).
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to teamwork and continuous learning.
