Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Account Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of payables, commissions, and agency bill workflows. This role is designed for a technical accounting professional who thrives in the insurance brokerage space and enjoys the challenge of managing financial operations across multiple entities. 

Location: Independence, OH / Hybrid Role
Salary: $60,000-$65,000 

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage vendor invoices across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely payment
  • Reconcile vendor statements and independently resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain vendor records, payment schedules, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including payable accruals
  • Prepare, calculate, and process producer and agency commission statements
  • Ensure commission calculations align with producer agreements and applicable arrangements
  • Investigate and resolve commission discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams
  • Maintain accurate and auditable commission documentation
  • Oversee outsourced agency bill service provider related to carrier and premium transactions
  • Apply and reconcile agency bill activity within AMS360
  • Support agency bill account reconciliations and variance resolution
  • Utilize AMS360 for agency bill and commission workflows
  • Generate payable, commission, and agency bill reports as needed
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records
  • Document procedures and ensure consistent execution across entities

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3-5 years of accounting or accounts payable experience within an insurance agency or brokerage required
  • Multi-entity or multi-office agency experience strongly preferred
  • Hands-on AMS360 experience required
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent insurance agency accounting experience may substitute
  • Strong understanding of insurance commission structures and agency bill workflows
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and resolve issues with minimal oversight
  • Strong documentation and process management skills
