Job Summary

Looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Employee Benefits Account Manager to join a team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the processing of new and renewal benefits business, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of client coverage proposals, and providing exceptional customer service. You will play a key role in supporting clients, producers, and management by reviewing policies, preparing detailed comparisons, and facilitating various account management tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed reviews of new and renewal policies for accuracy in rating, coverage, completeness, and signatures.
  • Coordinate electronic input of transactions, process policy changes and cancellations, and ensure timely delivery of documents to appropriate parties.
  • Prepare detailed coverage and cost comparisons, risk and loss analyses, and rating differences for use by producers and clients.
  • Assist producers in answering policy application questions and occasionally sell additional or expanded coverage to existing clients.
  • Maintain extensive communication with carriers, producers, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure comprehensive customer service.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and/or paper files in an orderly and timely manner, contributing to a suspense system for follow-up on pending matters.
  • Prepare and request insurance documents, including Summary Plan Descriptions, Summary of Benefits and Coverage, and identification cards.
  • Perform account management support functions such as facilitating reinstatements, pulling loss runs, and resolving billing issues.
  • Undertake special projects as requested by management.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Proven experience in insurance account management.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage options, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in using electronic systems for data input and document management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, producers, and carriers.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Holds an active L&H (Life and Health) insurance license.
