Overview
A well-established insurance agency is seeking an experienced accounting professional to step into a leadership role overseeing the day-to-day accounting function. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys managing operations while mentoring a small team in a collaborative, stable environment. The position plays a key role in maintaining strong financial processes and supporting the agency’s long-term growth. Prior accounting experience within an insurance agency strongly preferred as well as experience with AMS360.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all accounting operations for the agency

Lead, mentor, and support a small accounting team

Manage Direct Bill and Agency Bill processes

Oversee vendor payables and cash management

Lead month-end close, general ledger, forecasting, and financial reporting

Prepare and review producer statements and commission calculations

Manage payroll processing and related reporting

Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all financial activities

Partner with leadership on financial reporting and operational initiatives

Support and optimize system utilization within AMS360
Qualifications

Prior accounting experience within an insurance agency strongly preferred

Experience with AMS360 highly desirable

Demonstrated ability to manage accounting functions and supervise staff

Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently

Fresno, CA (Hybrid – in-office Tuesday–Thursday)
