Overview
A well-established insurance agency is seeking an experienced accounting professional to step into a leadership role overseeing the day-to-day accounting function. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys managing operations while mentoring a small team in a collaborative, stable environment. The position plays a key role in maintaining strong financial processes and supporting the agency’s long-term growth. Prior accounting experience within an insurance agency strongly preferred as well as experience with AMS360. 

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations for the agency

• Lead, mentor, and support a small accounting team

• Manage Direct Bill and Agency Bill processes

• Oversee vendor payables and cash management

• Lead month-end close, general ledger, forecasting, and financial reporting

• Prepare and review producer statements and commission calculations

• Manage payroll processing and related reporting

• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all financial activities

• Partner with leadership on financial reporting and operational initiatives

• Support and optimize system utilization within AMS360

Qualifications

• Prior accounting experience within an insurance agency strongly preferred

• Experience with AMS360 highly desirable

• Demonstrated ability to manage accounting functions and supervise staff

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently

• Hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset

Location
Fresno, CA (Hybrid – in-office Tuesday–Thursday)
