Job Summary
The Commercial Insurance Producer is responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing existing client relationships within the commercial insurance sector. This role focuses on identifying client needs, providing tailored insurance solutions, and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction to ensure continued growth of the agency’s book of business.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and pursue potential clients through multiple channels, including cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Needs Assessment and Risk Analysis: Evaluate clients’ operations to determine insurance requirements and identify potential exposures.
  • Insurance Proposal Development: Design and present customized insurance programs that align with each client’s risk profile and business objectives.
  • Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate terms and pricing with carriers to secure optimal coverage and value for clients.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through consistent communication and proactive service.
  • Policy Renewal and Retention: Review and update policies to ensure continued adequacy of coverage and promote client retention at renewal.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Licensing: Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license.
  • Experience: Prior experience in commercial insurance sales or a related client-facing role is strongly preferred.
  • Sales Skills: Demonstrated success in prospecting, negotiation, and closing business.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess risks and develop appropriate coverage recommendations.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
