Commercial Lines Agent (Farm/Agriculture)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Lines Agent with a focus on farm and agriculture to join our growing team. As a licensed account manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining and growing our farm and agriculture clientele by delivering exceptional customer service and tailored insurance solutions. The ideal candidate has a passion for farm/agriculture insurance, strong sales acumen, and the ability to build long-lasting relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of commercial farm and agriculture insurance clients.
- Conduct insurance evaluations and provide tailored solutions to meet clients’ coverage needs in areas such as crop insurance, livestock, farm equipment, and property coverage.
- Identify client risks and clearly explain available coverage options, policy limitations, and exclusions.
- Provide high-quality customer service by responding to client inquiries, resolving coverage or billing issues, and processing changes to policies.
- Work closely with insurance carriers to secure quotes, negotiate terms, and ensure optimal pricing and coverage for clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including claims managers and underwriters, to deliver seamless service.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all state licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, agricultural practices, and competitor products to remain a trusted advisor for clients.
- Assist in marketing initiatives to attract new business and retain existing clients.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance License is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Commercial Lines Account Manager or in a similar insurance sales/client management role, preferably focused on farm/agriculture.
- Strong knowledge of commercial farm/agriculture insurance products, trends, and state-specific policies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and manage multiple deadlines efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in insurance agency management software and MS Office Suite.
- A self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Agricultural background or experience is a plus.
Compensation Package
- Compensation: Between $40k-$60k (based on experience) + Commission.
