Job Description

Seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Commercial Lines Assistant Underwriter to join our growing team. This role supports our underwriting staff in evaluating and processing new and renewal business across a broad range of commercial lines products. As part of a fast-paced wholesale environment, the Assistant Underwriter plays a key role in ensuring submissions are complete, accurate, and processed efficiently for broker and carrier partners.

• Key Responsibilities:
  Review and organize new and renewal submissions for completeness and eligibility
• Assist underwriters with rating, quoting, and binding commercial lines accounts
• Enter and maintain accurate data in internal systems (policy, premium, risk info)
• Communicate with retail agency partners to request missing information or clarify submissions
• Prepare underwriting files and documentation for audit or carrier review
• Support underwriters in managing deadlines, endorsements, and policy servicing
• Monitor inboxes and carrier portals for policy issuance, endorsements, and cancellations
• Help draft proposal letters, quote comparisons, and other client-facing materials
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., accounting, compliance) as needed
