Commercial Insurance Account Manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Insurance Account Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of commercial insurance policies and a strong ability to manage client relationships effectively. You will be responsible for servicing and supporting a book of commercial clients, ensuring their needs are met, and working closely with underwriters and other team members to deliver the best insurance solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Management: Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing commercial clients, acting as their primary point of contact for insurance-related inquiries.
- Policy Administration: Manage day-to-day servicing of client accounts, including renewals, policy changes, endorsements, and cancellations.
- Risk Analysis & Solutions: Work with clients to assess their insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage based on their business operations and risk profile.
- Quoting & Coverage Negotiation: Collaborate with underwriters to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and ensure clients receive competitive pricing and suitable coverage.
- Claims Assistance: Provide guidance and support to clients throughout the claims process, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to their business.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all policies, paperwork, and records are accurate, complete, and compliant with industry regulations.
- Cross-selling & Upselling: Identify opportunities for additional coverage or services and work to expand existing accounts.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service and respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales teams, underwriters, and other internal departments to ensure a seamless experience for clients.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) as an Account Manager or in a similar role within the commercial insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, policies, and underwriting processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in insurance software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to handle client concerns and resolve issues effectively.
- Active insurance license (as required by state/province regulations) is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification or designation (e.g., CIC, CRM, or CISR) is a plus.
- Experience working with large commercial accounts and complex insurance needs.
