Job Summary:

Discover a leadership opportunity in commercial lines underwriting, leading a team of Account Managers. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring smooth policy renewals, effective claims management, and adherence to industry standards. Utilize your expertise in risk management to guide strategic decisions and enhance client satisfaction through proactive leadership and operational oversight.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Account Managers, serving as the primary resource for inquiries and escalations.
  • Oversee the renewal process and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage client claims, ensuring they are handled promptly and effectively.
  • Utilize your risk management expertise to mitigate potential issues and provide strategic guidance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and ensure forms and procedures are current and effective.
  • Collaborate with insured clients experiencing claims challenges to facilitate resolutions.
  • Drive implementation of new technologies and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain oversight of policies to ensure they meet regulatory and underwriting standards.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a team effectively.
  • Previous leadership/managerial experience, adept at delegating tasks and handling escalations.
  • Holds an active Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance License.
  • Preferred Agency Management System Experience: AMS360
  • 10+ years of relevant insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Holds at least one professional designation or has comparable job experience.
  • Above average computer skills with the capacity to master essential software programs.
  • Prior underwriting experience, with exposure to small- and middle-market accounts.
  • Prior experience handling six-figure accounts in premium.
  • Previous contractors and surplus lines experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining client relationships.
