Job Description

The AVP, Professional Liability will oversee the professional liability underwriting and claims teams, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service and results. This role will involve strategic leadership, team management, and direct involvement in complex underwriting and claims decisions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in professional liability insurance, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of leadership.

Salary

• $145,000 - $1650,000 +/year (based on experience)

Job Description

• Drives employee engagement, adjuster development, and team performance and growth
• Drives Key Performance Indicators and adherence USA Best Practices through managerial diary and file audits
• Reviews coverage analyses drafted by team, including denials
• Drives litigation management behaviors within assigned team
• Identifies and provides solutions for key issues and trends to senior claims management

Requirements

• Needs to have professional Lines background (open to GL/BI)
• Will handle claims from all over the US
• Handling claims with policy limits up to $2M. Average is going to be less than $1M
• 8+ years in insurance and 5+ in Claims handling 3+ years in leadership
• A JD from an ABA accredited law school may be considered as a supplement to claims handling experience Advanced knowledge of claims analysis and adjusting practices 
• B.A./B. S degree from an accredited College or University preferred
