CGL Senior Litigation Specialist (Remote)

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced CGL Senior Litigation Specialist to join a team. This is a fully remote position that offers an exciting opportunity to manage a 100% litigated desk, focusing on complex commercial general liability (CGL) claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling heavy construction claims, including bodily injury, product liability, and premises liability, with reserve authority in the $200K range. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional with a carrier background and nationwide exposure.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: Up to $145,000+ annually (DOE)
  • Profit Sharing: 5-11% in lieu of 401(k) match
  • Discretionary Bonus: 10-15%

Responsibilities

As a CGL Senior Litigation Specialist, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of 100-125 primarily litigated commercial third-party general liability claims.
  • Review and set up new loss assignments promptly, ensuring compliance with department guidelines and best practices.
  • Establish and regularly evaluate loss and expense reserves for adequacy and accuracy.
  • Analyze and interpret policy language to make appropriate coverage decisions.
  • Draft complex coverage correspondence, including reservation of rights and coverage disclaimers, in compliance with state statutes and regulations.
  • Proactively manage claim files from inception to closure, including investigation, evaluation, and resolution.
  • Document all claim file activity, including strategies and plans of action.
  • Direct and control activities and costs of external vendors, including defense counsel, coverage counsel, experts, and independent adjusters.
  • Prepare and present detailed loss reports and participate in roundtable discussions with peers and management.
  • Obtain and maintain required state adjuster licenses and comply with continuing education requirements.
  • Serve as a technical resource within the department, mentoring and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Participate in cross-departmental projects, audits, workshops, and task forces as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Extensive experience in handling complex claims and litigation, particularly in CGL (bodily injury, product liability, premises liability).
  • Reserve authority experience in the $200K range.
  • Strong carrier background; E&S experience is a significant plus.
  • Licenses in at least Florida and Texas, with additional licenses and nationwide exposure preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced, paperless environment.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in managing external vendors and legal counsel.
  • Must not have a background primarily in personal lines, auto, property, or TPA-heavy roles.
