Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Assistant to support the day-to-day administration and processing of New York workers’ compensation claims. This position will work closely with Claims Adjusters and other claims professionals to ensure claims are handled accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience within workers’ compensation claims and a strong understanding of New York workers’ compensation processes. Compensation & Benefits:
- $56,000 - $63,000/year (based on years of experience)

Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in workers’ compensation claims, claims administration, or a related insurance environment (Paralegals encouraged to apply)
- Familiarity with New York Workers’ Compensation claims and terminology preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced claims environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with claims management systems is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a claims team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and claims support to Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjusters.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of workers’ compensation claim files.
- Review and organize claim-related documentation, correspondence, medical records, and bills.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining required claim information and supporting documentation.
- Enter and update claim information accurately within claims management systems.
- Monitor claim files for outstanding documentation and follow up as needed.
- Assist adjusters with routine claim correspondence and communications.
- Coordinate with injured workers, employers, medical providers, attorneys, and other parties as directed.
- Assist with diary management, claim follow-ups, and other administrative tasks.
- Review incoming correspondence and route information to the appropriate claims professional.
- Assist with processing claim payments and other claim-related transactions in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete electronic claim files.
- Support adjusters with preparing documentation for claim reviews and audits.
- Perform other claims-related administrative duties as assigned.
