General Liability Claims Representative (Bodily Injury)

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented General Liability Claims Representative to join a team. In this role, you will directly handle business owner liability claims, including bodily injury and property damage cases. You will be responsible for analyzing coverage issues, investigating claims, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate claim resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an active desk of fast-track property damage liability claims under business owner policies.
  • Analyze coverage issues under various standard industry forms, including Business Owners Coverage Form, Garage keepers, Hired Non-Owned Auto, and Auto Services.
  • Investigate, analyze, and evaluate new loss notices and claim tenders.
  • Adjust total auto losses as part of liability claims handling.
  • Expedite claim analysis and position claims under applicable coverage.
  • Collaborate on setting reserves at appropriate levels for claims.
  • Exercise sound judgment in managing Allocated Loss Adjustment Expenses (ALAE) during claims investigation.
  • Document claim files in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Obtain and maintain adjuster licenses as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required.
  • CPCU or other industry designation is a plus.
  • State adjuster license(s) is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior general liability claims adjusting experience preferred.
  • Experience in handling bodily injury claims is required.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proper grammar usage and the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and respond to inquiries with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and internet applications.
  • Highly attentive to detail and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions, adhere to established procedures, and exercise good judgment in sensitive situations.
