Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Representative

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Representative to join a team. This role involves managing Workers’ Compensation claims from inception to resolution, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims investigation, litigation management, and customer service, with a focus on delivering exceptional results. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days per week in the office.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year + bonus opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of 100-125 Workers’ Compensation claims, including litigated cases, from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including obtaining statements, records, and other evidentiary materials.
  • Evaluate and set accurate claim reserves to reflect potential exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Provide clear and effective communication with customers, claimants, defense counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee and manage defense counsel, independent adjusters, and other third parties involved in claims.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and reporting of all claims handling activities.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience handling Workers’ Compensation Lost Time/Indemnity claims, including serious injury and litigated cases.
  • Experience in claims investigation, administration, and litigation management.
  • Knowledge of coverage, reserving principles, investigation, and negotiation techniques.
  • Licensed to handle Texas Workers’ Compensation claims (additional licenses in other states, such as Mississippi, are a plus).
  • Experience in the construction, forestry, logging, or oil and gas industries is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent judgment, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Service-oriented with a commitment to providing prompt and effective customer service.
  • Ability to travel as needed, including potential overnight stays.
