Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Casualty Senior Claims Specialist to join a team. This role involves managing a portfolio of complex and high-exposure commercial casualty claims, including product liability and construction-related matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims handling, litigation management, and policy coverage analysis. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on delivering exceptional service to clients and stakeholders.

Compensation Package

  • Base Salary: $110,000–$150,000 (depending on experience) + performance-based annual discretionary bonus

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of high-value, complex casualty claims, including litigated matters.
  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex commercial casualty claims, utilizing external service providers as needed.
  • Represent the company and clients in complex claims, participating in or leading litigation teams when necessary.
  • Independently resolve significant exposure claims within delegated authority levels.
  • Effectively manage outside counsel and external vendors to ensure cost control and quality outcomes.
  • Analyze policy coverage on standard and manuscript forms, identify coverage issues, and draft coverage position letters as required.
  • Operate within designated monetary authority for reserves, settlements, and payments.
  • Prepare timely and accurate large loss reports and keep management informed of developments on severe claims.
  • Conduct mediations and informal negotiations to drive efficient claim resolution.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, and internal colleagues domestically and internationally.
  • Identify and pursue subrogation recovery opportunities when applicable.
  • Share claims insights and lessons learned across departments to improve organizational performance.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant casualty claims experience, with a focus on product liability and construction liability.
  • Expertise in complex casualty claims handling, litigation management, coverage analysis, and negotiations.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review medical records, expert reports, and investigative materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong policy interpretation capabilities.
  • Adaptable and capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to exceeding expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic claims management systems.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain appropriate state adjuster licenses and required continuing education credits.
  • Minimal travel required on an as-needed basis.
