Position Overview

Our client, a nationally recognized insurance carrier, is seeking a Director, Professional Liability & Cyber Claims to serve as a senior individual contributor within their claims organization. You’ll be trusted with high-impact matters at the intersection of technology, risk, and insurance. This role calls for sharp judgment, clear communication, and the confidence to independently steer complex claims from intake through resolution. 

Salary

  • $110,000 to $160,000+/year base salary (based on experience)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in claims handling Professional Liability (D&O, E&O, EPL, Cyber, Fiduciary, etc.) or a closely related field
  • Experience with cyber or technology-related claims is highly desirable
  • Juris Doctor preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses (resident/home state and additional states as needed)

Job Description

  • Taking ownership of sophisticated cyber and technology-related claims, including both first-party and third-party matters
  • Interpreting policy language and making well-reasoned coverage determinations with speed and precision
  • Directing investigations by leveraging internal specialists and outside experts while aligning with established Financial Lines standards
  • Developing the claim story as it unfolds—assessing responsibility, quantifying loss, and evaluating financial exposure
  • Establishing and actively managing indemnity and expense reserves, supported by clear rationale and documentation
  • Producing focused, high-quality reports that summarize risk, strategy, and status for stakeholders
  • Managing external partners such as defense counsel, forensic vendors, and other service providers
  • Representing the company at mediations, settlement discussions, hearings, or trials when required
  • Building credibility and trust with insureds, brokers, attorneys, and internal business partners
  • Maintaining a well-organized portfolio of active claims and proactively driving files toward resolution
  • Ensuring all handling complies with regulatory requirements and fair claims practices standards
