Commercial Lines Account Manager - Small Business
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Lines Account Manager specializing in Small Business to manage a portfolio of small commercial accounts – including nonprofits and small contractors. This transaction-driven role focuses on high-volume, automatic renewals and requires a proactive, independent professional with strong communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into handling larger commercial accounts over time.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily account operations using industry systems (e.g., ImageRight, AMS360)
- Monitor and act on expiration lists and incoming requests
- Process verifications of insurance, audits, and vehicle changes
- Oversee billing transactions, cancellation requests, and loss control processes
- Follow up with clients to ensure timely responses to carrier requirements
- Maintain a balanced workload between phone calls and emails
- Operate autonomously with minimal oversight while ensuring accurate, transaction-based processing
Qualifications/Requirements
- Possession of a valid Property & Casualty (P&C) License – required
- CIC designation is preferred but not mandatory
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience managing small commercial lines accounts or similar portfolios
- Familiarity with industry software tools and systems
- Previous experience assisting on (or managing) a book of business – required
- 1+ year of relevant insurance industry experience preferred
