Senior Claims Consultant

Job Summary

Looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Consultant to join a team. This role involves providing strategic oversight and resolution strategies for domestic USA property and casualty claims, conducting trend analyses, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure optimal claims management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general oversight on all domestic USA property and casualty claims, including participation in resolution strategy conferences for medium and large losses.
  • Conduct strategic analysis of losses and perform trend analysis in collaboration with the risk engineering department.
  • Prepare and present claim reviews for insureds and brokers, summarizing claims, identifying trends, and formulating resolution strategies.
  • Participate in underwriting meetings to provide insights on potential risks, account claim history, and open claims exposure.
  • Monitor adjuster best practices and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to claims inquiries from carriers, brokers, and insureds, providing status updates and accurate loss data.
  • Establish account special handling instructions and coordinate with carriers/TPAs for approval and implementation.
  • Assist with select accounts for foreign U.S. Master Policy claims handled by TPA partners in the United Kingdom.
  • Review coverage opinions and provide expert advice to carrier partners and internal leadership.
  • Maintain an internal large loss tracker with pertinent case developments.
  • Support the Chief Claims Officer in stewardship protocols and portfolio management.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Commercial Property and Casualty claims.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (may be waived with substantial relevant experience). Preferred majors include risk management and insurance, economics, business, or finance.
  • Strong technical understanding of P&C products and services, including ISO-based forms.
  • Proven ability to work independently, analyze data, and solve complex problems.
  • Exceptional customer-facing skills with the ability to resolve conflicts professionally and courteously.
  • Expertise in analyzing insurance policy documentation and legal correspondence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Experience in ancillary lines of insurance (e.g., Ocean Marine, Inland Marine, Aviation, Financial Lines, Builder’s Risk) is a plus.
