Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle commercial auto property damage claims in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, attorneys, vendors, and internal stakeholders while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
  • Conduct thorough assessment of damages, analyze liability exposures, and determine appropriate settlements promptly and accurately.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate documentation, including statements, appraisal records, and settlement offers.
  • Work closely with third-party vendors (e.g., appraisers, repair shops) to determine the extent of property damage and costs of repairs.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and/or attorneys while adhering to legal and appropriate procedural policies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing property damage claims.
  • Stay current with market trends, laws, and company policies to effectively manage claims.
  • Provide support and mentorship to team members as needed and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and development.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in handling commercial auto property damage claims is required.
  • Active adjuster license(s) in applicable states.
  • Proficiency in claims management systems and ability to quickly adapt to new technology; solid understanding of property damage estimating software is preferred.
  • Strong ability to analyze facts, assess liability, estimate damages, and evaluate settlement opportunities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex scenarios in an empathetic and professional manner.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer-focused solutions while maintaining ethical and equitable standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
  • Adept at managing time, prioritizing tasks, and balancing a demanding workload.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations governing claims handling.
