Job Title: Senior Technical Claim Specialist – Aerospace

 

Job Summary

A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Technical Claim Specialist with a focus on aerospace claims. This role involves managing a caseload of complex aviation-related insurance claims, including both first and third-party matters. The position requires a deep understanding of aviation insurance, strong investigative skills, and the ability to resolve claims efficiently and accurately. Ideal candidates will have significant claims experience, with a background in aviation or aerospace insurance, and the ability to handle claims in multiple jurisdictions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Handle full life cycle management of aerospace-related first and third-party claims.
  • Conduct coverage analysis and make determinations in accordance with policy terms and applicable regulations.
  • Perform on-site aircraft accident investigations and damage assessments.
  • Coordinate and communicate with policyholders, claimants, legal counsel, witnesses, and other involved parties.
  • Maintain oversight of panel attorneys for litigated claims and provide direction as needed.
  • Monitor and manage caseloads efficiently, with an average of fewer than 100 open files.
  • Prepare comprehensive investigative and settlement reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations to underwriting on policy coverage and risk ratings.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in aviation claims handling.
  • Travel approximately 35% of the time to perform field inspections and investigations.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Active Adjuster License in home state (TX or FL preferred, but others accepted); multi-state licensing preferred.
  • 7–12+ years of experience in insurance claims, specifically aviation or aerospace-related.
  • Strong technical knowledge of aviation policies, including hull and liability coverages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capability to handle varying workloads.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard claim management systems.
  • Ability to travel approximately 35% of the time.
  • Pilot’s license is a plus.
