Job Title: Senior Technical Claim Specialist – Aerospace
Job Summary
A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Technical Claim Specialist with a focus on aerospace claims. This role involves managing a caseload of complex aviation-related insurance claims, including both first and third-party matters. The position requires a deep understanding of aviation insurance, strong investigative skills, and the ability to resolve claims efficiently and accurately. Ideal candidates will have significant claims experience, with a background in aviation or aerospace insurance, and the ability to handle claims in multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Handle full life cycle management of aerospace-related first and third-party claims.
- Conduct coverage analysis and make determinations in accordance with policy terms and applicable regulations.
- Perform on-site aircraft accident investigations and damage assessments.
- Coordinate and communicate with policyholders, claimants, legal counsel, witnesses, and other involved parties.
- Maintain oversight of panel attorneys for litigated claims and provide direction as needed.
- Monitor and manage caseloads efficiently, with an average of fewer than 100 open files.
- Prepare comprehensive investigative and settlement reports for internal stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations to underwriting on policy coverage and risk ratings.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in aviation claims handling.
- Travel approximately 35% of the time to perform field inspections and investigations.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Active Adjuster License in home state (TX or FL preferred, but others accepted); multi-state licensing preferred.
- 7–12+ years of experience in insurance claims, specifically aviation or aerospace-related.
- Strong technical knowledge of aviation policies, including hull and liability coverages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capability to handle varying workloads.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard claim management systems.
- Ability to travel approximately 35% of the time.
- Pilot’s license is a plus.
