Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and counsel on coverage and bad faith claim matters

• Advise the Claim Department on coverage issues, including review of coverage letters and related documentation
• Research, analyze, and monitor coverage and bad faith case law and legislation across multiple U.S. jurisdictions
• Deliver training and ongoing legal guidance to the Claim Department on coverage issues, litigation management, file documentation, excess vs. primary disputes, catastrophe claims, and claim handling practices
• Provide legal support on policy language interpretation and product development initiatives
• Advise on additional legal issues and disputes arising from coverage determinations and claim handling

Qualifications/Requirements:

• J.D. required with 8+ years of legal experience at a law firm and/or insurance company
• Experience advising on coverage and defending coverage and bad faith litigation for claims-made professional and executive liability products (e.g., D&O, EPL, fiduciary)
• Experience handling coverage and bad faith matters across multiple U.S. jurisdictions preferred
• Experience analyzing coverage issues across multiple product lines
• Insurance policy drafting experience preferred
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex claim processes and identify practical solutions
• Strategic mindset focused on improving claim outcomes
• Ability to develop innovative solutions within a Claim Counsel function
• Clear, effective communicator with the ability to present findings and recommendations to management

Compensation Package:
