Job Summary:
Growing and reputable insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Insurance Compliance Manager with a background in insurance company compliance and regulatory affairs to join its team in either Sandy, UT, Chicago, IL, or Exton, PA. This person will be responsible for maintaining licensure and compliance for the company and individuals who act as producers and insurance adjusters for the insurance company. Responsible for the development of new processes and manuals, as needed, working with insurance regulators in various states, and ensuring overall legal compliance within the insurance industry. Ideal candidate has surplus lines compliance experience.
The Insurance Compliance Manager oversees insurance operations, contract management, business licensing, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures the company's operations align with local and national laws, ethical standards, and regulatory policies. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing policies, maintaining accurate records, and managing staff. Ideal candidate has extensive insurance industry knowledge, a deep understanding of relevant laws and best practices, and strong leadership abilities. This individual should possess excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Ultimately, the Insurance Compliance Manager will safeguard the business through effective asset protection strategies and strict adherence to legal standards and in-house policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own compliance — Ensure compliant filing of reports across state and federal levels with speed and accuracy with support of existing team
- Keep licenses on track — Manage agency and producer licenses across multiple states so nothing slips through the cracks
- Build better processes — Create and improve compliance workflows and training that scale with us
- Document consistently and stay audit-ready — Run internal audits, keep clean records, and prep clear reports for leadership and regulators
- Spot risks early — Keep an eye on regulatory changes and help the team stay ahead of the curve
- Work across teams — Partner with Ops and other teams to build smart, compliant solutions, research compliance issues as needed, and roll out ongoing compliance education
- Coordinate with partners — Make sure carrier and vendor relationships stay aligned with compliance standards
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-10+ years of experience in property and casualty insurance compliance; ideally you have ample surplus lines work experience and have built processes from the ground up
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- General knowledge of state and federal insurance laws, rules, and regulations, and skills to research issues and find answers and solutions as needed.
- Preferred: Experience with insurance brokerage and complex property and casualty insurance programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and decision-making skills.

COMPENSATION:
Salary: $110K-$150K Depending on experience
