Job Overview:
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) Producer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background in commercial insurance, a deep understanding of P&C coverage, and a proven ability to build relationships with prospective clients. In this role, you will be responsible for generating new business, developing tailored insurance solutions, and managing client relationships within the commercial sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Development: Identify, prospect, and secure new commercial clients by generating leads, networking, and leveraging industry contacts. Develop and implement strategies to target new accounts and increase revenue.
- Sales & Client Acquisition: Drive the sales process from prospecting through closing, offering customized Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance solutions to meet the unique needs of each client.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their trusted advisor for all P&C insurance needs. Provide exceptional customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
- Insurance Solutions & Coverage Recommendations: Assess the insurance needs of prospective clients and recommend appropriate P&C coverages, including general liability, property, workers' compensation, commercial auto, professional liability, and other relevant lines of coverage.
- Risk Assessment & Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' business operations and risk exposures to propose comprehensive insurance packages that minimize potential risks and protect business assets.
- Carrier Relationships & Negotiations: Work with insurance carriers to obtain competitive quotes, negotiate terms, and ensure optimal coverage for clients. Maintain strong relationships with underwriters and insurance providers.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and present insurance proposals to prospective clients, outlining coverage options, pricing, and value propositions.
- Cross-Selling & Upselling: Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell additional products or coverages to existing clients, expanding the overall scope of their insurance programs.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all client records and policies are compliant with industry regulations and internal procedures. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of sales activities and client information.
- Market Awareness: Stay informed on the latest trends in commercial insurance, industry regulations, and competitor offerings to provide clients with the most relevant and effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance sales or a related field.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of commercial insurance products, including property, casualty, workers' compensation, general liability, and professional liability.
- Sales Skills: Proven ability to generate leads, build relationships, and close sales. Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide exceptional service to clients.
- Organization & Time Management: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts and sales opportunities simultaneously.
- Insurance License: Active Property & Casualty Insurance license (as required by state/province regulations).
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with insurance software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications: Industry designations such as CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor), CRM (Certified Risk Manager), or similar certifications are a plus.
- Experience: Experience working with mid to large commercial accounts and industries such as manufacturing, construction, or retail.
- Networking: Established relationships within the commercial insurance industry or local business community.
