The Jonus Group specializes in placing top talent within the insurance industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Premium Auditor for one of our esteemed insurance carrier clients. You will perform audits on commercial lines Workers Compensation and General Liability policies, subject to audit upon expiration to verify appropriate classifications, exposures and basis of premium calculations. This in efforts to determine earned premium for the period(s) in question. You will review policyholder financial records, including, but not limited to, federal and state quarterly tax returns, payroll records, financial statements, general ledgers and/or related reports.  In this role, you will consult with policyholders regarding business practices, operations and staff duties while explaining various aspects of the audit to the audit contact.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Within the designated territory, meet with the insureds at their place of business, via Teams or by phone, to accurately audit exposures.
• Complete audits by reviewing policyholder financial records, including federal and state quarterly tax returns, payroll records, financial statements, general ledgers and other related documents/reports.
• Determine correct exposures and classifications for use in audit process by applying knowledge of National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), Insurance Services Office (ISO) and other audit-related guidelines.  
• Review, inspect, and investigate any aspect of the business necessary to develop earned premium.
• Prepare detailed reports of audit findings and submits to corporate office.
• Provide description of insured’s business operations to assist underwriter in risk assessment and insurance fraud discussions.
• Resolve any audit dispute through review and research. Perform some mail or telephone audits.
• Complete audit summaries by entering payroll records, quarterly statements, receipts, etc. Schedules future audits and selects travel routes when conducting audits in person (Physical).

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or equivalent work experience
• Strong math, bookkeeping and/or accounting aptitude with attention to detail
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and related software platforms
• Knowledge of property and casualty insurance industry and applicable Workers’ Compensation and General Liability regulations and classifications preferred
• Ability to analyze, research and resolve audit issues
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
• Ability to work independently as well as with others under minimal supervision needed
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
• Travel required; a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if traveling

COMPENSATION:

• $60,000- $85,000/year based on experience

About the Role:
A Dallas based insurance agency in the construction space is seeking a highly skilled CFO/COO to join their growing team. Partnering with the President, the CFO/COO will have overarching responsibility for all day-to-day operations. Ideal candidate has experience running the office for a small to mid-sized insurance agency handling bookkeeping/accounting, HR, IT, etc.  Must have insurance experience, preferably with an agency, wholesaler, or MGA. Hybrid in office 3 days per week. 

Key Responsibilities:

● Office Management- assist with running the office. 

● Handle bookkeeping/accounting.

● Has a working knowledge of the agency management software (TAM and Applied Epic).

● Improve daily organization and workflows to ensure maximum operational efficiency.

● Ensures regulatory compliance of the agency.

● Monitor production and monthly goals for all producers. Team of 6-7.

Skills:

● 5 + years of COO, CFO, Operations, or Accounting experience from an insurance agency preferred.

● Property & Casualty agency management system preferably Applied Epic.

● Someone with an accounting background is a must.

● Bachelor’s Degree in accounting preferred

● Strong insurance knowledge.

● Someone computer and tech savvy is a must.

Compensation Package:

An established agency is seeking a skilled Controller with expertise in the insurance industry to lead financial operations and drive strategic financial initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to oversee diverse accounting functions, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to organizational growth. The Agency Accountant/Controller will be responsible for accounts receivable and payables including resolving discrepancies while working with employees, vendors and banks ensuring the proper posting, payment and accounting of transactions. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage comprehensive accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements in a timely manner.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting requirements effectively.
• Research and address technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with standards.
• Facilitate the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls for financial transactions and reporting.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience as an Agency Accountant/Controller within the insurance sector
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
• CPA is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and administration.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
• Must have Epic experience.

Compensation Package:

• Job Type: Full-time, with preference for on-site work Monday to Friday and potential for hybrid arrangements after the first few months.
• Salary: $70K-$90K, depending on experience and qualifications.
