📣 Hiring: Commercial Lines Underwriting Team Lead | Richmond, VA

I’m working on a newly created leadership opportunity with an established P&C insurance carrier that is continuing to grow its Mid-Atlantic operation.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading and developing underwriters but still wants to stay close to the technical side of underwriting.

The role:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 5 Commercial Lines Underwriters
• Remain hands-on with larger and more complex accounts
• Help develop a relatively junior underwriting team
• Focus on Small Commercial / BOP business
• Work closely with independent agency partners
• Help improve underwriting processes, workflows, and team structure
• Support continued growth throughout the Mid-Atlantic region

What they’re looking for:

• Commercial P&C underwriting experience
• Strong Small Commercial and/or BOP background
• Carrier experience preferred
• Leadership, team lead, mentoring, or supervisory experience
• Strong technical underwriting judgment around pricing, risk selection, and profitability
• Someone who genuinely enjoys coaching and developing other underwriters
• Formal management experience is helpful, but they’re open to someone ready to take the next step into leadership
