Executive Cyber Underwriter

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Cyber Underwriter to lead underwriting efforts for cyber insurance products. This role involves assessing complex risks and developing innovative solutions tailored to client needs. Collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal teams to drive profitability while maintaining an emphasis on risk assessment and mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite complex cyber insurance risks, ensuring alignment with company underwriting guidelines and objectives.
• Work closely with brokers and clients to tailor coverage solutions that address evolving cyber risk exposures.
• Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, trends, and technologies to enhance underwriting strategies.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and legal teams to shape product offerings and ensure profitability.
• Lead and mentor junior underwriters to foster professional development.
• Support marketing efforts through client presentations, industry events, and training sessions.
• Review and enhance underwriting processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Contribute to the development of innovative insurance products that reflect market demands and cybersecurity trends.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Risk Management, or Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in underwriting with a strong focus on cyber insurance.
• In-depth understanding of cybersecurity risks, data breaches, and technological trends across industries.
• Advanced analytical and decision-making skills for assessing large and complex risks.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders, brokers, and clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional designations or certifications in insurance (e.g., CPCU, AU) or cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are highly desirable.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
