Director of Finance & Accounting
Location: Atlanta, GA
Hybrid Role
Target Comp: $160K - $190K + Bonus
The Director of Finance & Accounting will lead the organization's financial operations, planning, reporting, and accounting. This individual will serve as a key business partner to leadership, providing financial insight, operational support, and data-driven recommendations to enhance performance, scalability, and long-term growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader who enjoys working closely with operations and ownership to drive business results.
This is an operational finance leadership role focused on financial management, process improvement, reporting, and business partnership, rather than a private equity, transaction, or M&A-driven finance position.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance analysis.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
- Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with leadership and department heads to support operational decision-making, business planning, and organizational growth.
- Support cash flow management, financial modeling, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Develop and enhance financial infrastructure, reporting tools, and operational efficiencies.
- Manage and mentor accounting and finance personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Required Experience / Qualifications / Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA preferred; CFA or another advanced financial designation is a plus.
- 7–10+ years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
- Demonstrated ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
- Experience partnering with executive leadership to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Insurance brokerage experience is strongly preferred; candidates with relevant insurance industry experience from carriers, MGAs, wholesalers, or related organizations will also be considered.
