Director of Insurance
Job Summary
Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Insurance to join a dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving growth and ensuring the highest level of service for the clients. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in brokerage or underwriting, a strong understanding of property and casualty insurance, and a passion for building and maintaining client relationships. This is a hybrid position, offering a balance of remote work and in-office collaboration.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k) plan
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (combination of remote and in-office work)
- Travel: Occasional travel required for client visits (local and national)
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing strategies for client accounts.
- Manage the renewal process, including negotiating improved terms and pricing with underwriters.
- Conduct analyses of exposures and recommend appropriate coverage options.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the renewal process and beyond.
- Respond to client and underwriter inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide consultation on claims and lead client meetings, including presenting renewal options.
- Perform coverage reviews and due diligence for prospective clients.
- Delegate tasks to team members, including Senior Analysts, Analysts, and Administrative Assistants, as appropriate.
- Mentor and support team members in their professional development.
- Keep the Managing Director informed of significant account matters and escalate issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director on strategies for larger accounts.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business administration, economics, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 6 to 8 years of experience in brokerage or underwriting.
- Licenses: Active property & casualty insurance license is required.
