Actuarial Director – Corporate Risk Analysis

A national commercial insurance organization is seeking an Actuarial Director, Corporate Risk Analysis. This is a senior, hands‑on actuarial and capital modeling role with significant influence on reinsurance strategy, capital deployment, and enterprise risk decisions. The position sits at the intersection of actuarial modeling, financial strategy, and executive decision‑making, offering direct access to senior leadership and involvement in high‑impact corporate initiatives.
What You Will Do
- Lead development and ongoing enhancement of the company’s economic capital model and solvency framework
- Evaluate capital adequacy under current and proposed business strategies, supporting internal, regulatory, and rating agency assessments
- Analyze and optimize reinsurance programs using actuarial, financial, and catastrophe modeling inputs
- Translate complex model outputs into clear recommendations for senior leadership and board‑level discussions
- Support capital allocation, corporate forecasting, and strategic growth evaluations
- Partner across underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance, investments, catastrophe modeling, and ERM teams
- Contribute to ORSA scenarios, stress testing, and emerging risk evaluations
- Maintain strong model governance, documentation, and audit support
What We Are Looking For
- Eight or more years of experience in property and casualty economic capital modeling or related risk analytics
- ACAS or FCAS designation strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of capital adequacy frameworks, reinsurance pricing, catastrophe modeling, and financial reporting
- Proven ability to explain complex actuarial results to non‑technical audiences
- Advanced analytical and modeling skills with a strong business mindset
- Comfort working independently while influencing cross‑functional stakeholders

Compensation
- $160-200k base plus bonus
