Job Opportunity: Property and Casualty Binding Underwriter
Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Property and Casualty Binding Underwriter. This role involves managing a portfolio of accounts, driving new and renewal business opportunities, and making sound underwriting decisions in alignment with established guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite new and renewal property and casualty business, ensuring compliance with underwriting standards and guidelines.
- Evaluate risks by analyzing coverage value, location, usage, safety features, and other relevant factors to determine appropriate terms and premiums.
- Manage a portfolio of property and casualty accounts, ensuring active oversight and adherence to performance targets.
- Collaborate with brokers to create customized insurance solutions and maintain long-term professional relationships.
- Provide premium forecasts and business plans to support budgetary and performance objectives.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to refine underwriting strategies.
- Execute marketing activities, attend seminars, and participate in training to remain updated on market dynamics and underwriting trends.
- Ensure compliance with state and country laws, as well as carrier and organizational guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Property and Casualty Underwriting.
- Possession of state Property & Casualty and/or surplus line licenses (minimum requirements must be met).
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is a plus.
Day-to-Day
- Review and assess new and renewal business submissions, ensuring timely and accurate decision-making.
- Communicate with brokers to gather necessary information, negotiate terms, and provide exceptional service.
- Analyze data to identify exposures and make informed underwriting decisions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and other stakeholders to foster business growth.
- Monitor and manage the performance of the assigned portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Stay updated on market conditions and adjust underwriting practices as needed.
Please note that this position offers the flexibility to work remotely from any location within the United States, with a specific opening in Scottsdale, AZ.
