Commercial Lines Product Manager
Job Summary:
The Commercial Lines Product Manager plays a key role in developing, enhancing, and executing commercial insurance programs that align with market demands and business objectives. This highly technical and hands-on role requires strong industry knowledge, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive product development from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of new and enhanced commercial lines products and programs.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and regulatory review to ensure product compliance and market relevance.
- Analyze data and industry trends to support decision-making and optimize product performance.
- Manage all aspects of the product lifecycle, from concept through regulatory filing, pricing, launch, and post-launch monitoring.
- Draft and manage filing submissions through SERFF and IRFS in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including underwriting, actuarial, IT, compliance, and marketing to ensure cohesive execution.
- Monitor performance metrics to evaluate program success and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Prepare product documentation and presentation materials for internal and external communication.
- Influence and guide cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of projects.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial lines product management experience within the insurance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO rules, forms, and regulatory filing processes.
- Proven experience with competitive analysis, regulatory filings, and data-driven product development.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in data creation, manipulation, and analysis.
- Experience using SERFF and IRFS for filing submissions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
- Professional designation such as CPCU or similar certification is preferred.
