Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite insurance applications for commercial clients
- Analyze risk, market conditions, and policy terms to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
- Collaborate with underwriting assistants and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of underwriting processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to understand their unique needs and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to guide underwriting decisions and strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.
- Proven experience as an underwriter or underwriting assistant, with a focus on commercial insurance in the specified range.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and make informed underwriting decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and cultivate relationships with clients and brokers.
- Knowledge of insurance regulations, policies, and procedures.
Day-to-day
- Review and analyze insurance applications and associated documentation.
- Communicate with brokers and clients to gather necessary information or clarify details.
- Collaborate with underwriting assistants to ensure accurate data entry and documentation.
- Conduct market research and analysis to determine appropriate pricing and coverage.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay abreast of industry developments and best practices.
