Commercial Lines Underwriter
Location: Wooster, OH | Hybrid, 3 days in office
Compensation: $70,000–$130,000, depending on experience

We are partnering with a well-established insurance carrier seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter to join their team in Wooster, OH. This opportunity is ideal for an underwriter who enjoys managing a book of business, developing strong agency relationships, and working with commercial accounts

Responsibilities:

• Underwrite commercial agribusiness and farm-related accounts
• Evaluate risks and determine appropriate pricing, terms, conditions, and coverage
• Manage an assigned book of business with a focus on profitable growth and retention
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with independent agency partners
• Conduct agency visits and support the development of new agency relationships
• Partner with Risk Control on account evaluations and site visits
• Monitor production, retention, profitability, and loss trends
• Identify opportunities to grow the commercial agribusiness book
• Balance technical underwriting with agency relationship management and business development

Requirements:

• Commercial Lines underwriting experience
• Strong technical underwriting and risk-selection skills
• Knowledge of commercial insurance coverages
• Experience working with independent insurance agencies
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Ability to evaluate complex commercial risks
• Comfortable with agency and account/site visits
