Job Summary
The Commercial Lines Account Manager (Large Market) will manage a portfolio of large market accounts, foster strong client relationships, and deliver exceptional service. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who excels in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and has a deep understanding of commercial insurance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned large market commercial lines accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
- Analyze clients' insurance needs, prepare tailored proposals, and provide recommendations aligned with their business operations.
- Collaborate with underwriters and insurers to negotiate policies, coverage, premiums, and renewal terms to prioritize clients' interests.
- Manage the complete policy life cycle, including endorsements, audits, claims assistance, and renewals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records within the agency management system.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering proactive support.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and coverage options to offer strategic advice to clients.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies for large market clients to mitigate potential exposures.
- Mentor junior team members or account representatives, offering guidance and expertise.
- Represent the organization at community and networking events to build industry relationships.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in commercial lines account management, specifically with large market accounts.
- Licenses/Certifications: Active Property & Casualty insurance license required. Professional designations such as CIC, CPCU, or ARM are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of commercial property, liability, workers' compensation, and other lines of business insurance.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in insurance agency management systems, CRM software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and carriers.
- Dedication to continuous learning and professional development.
