Commercial Lines Account Manager
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Commercial Lines Account Manager to join a growing team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in middle-market commercial account management, particularly in handling sophisticated and complex accounts. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing client relationships, developing renewal strategies, and negotiating directly with insurers.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: Up to $110,000, commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance.
- Remote Work: Flexible options available. Candidates local to Charlottesville, VA, are preferred, with the expectation to work in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays if within 60 minutes of the office. Fully remote candidates in MD, VA, NC, or WV will also be considered for the right fit.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of sophisticated middle-market commercial accounts with premiums ranging from $150,000 to $2 million.
- Develop and execute renewal strategies, including direct insurer negotiations and marketing efforts.
- Conduct contractual insurance reviews and ensure comprehensive property and casualty coverage for clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
- Collaborate with analysts and support staff to ensure seamless account management.
- Present insurance solutions and strategies to senior client leadership with confidence and professionalism.
- Stay updated on industry trends and embrace innovative tools, including AI, to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Licensure: Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in middle-market commercial account management, with direct ownership of large, multi-line accounts.
- Industry Knowledge: Expertise in complex property and casualty coverage, with a strong preference for experience in real estate, construction, or non-profit/human services sectors.
- Skills:
- Proven ability to negotiate directly with insurers and underwriters.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior client leadership.
- Proficiency in AMS360 software is preferred.
- Adaptability and openness to leveraging AI and other innovative tools.
- Location: Candidates local to Charlottesville, VA, or within a 60-minute commute are preferred. Remote candidates in MD, VA, NC, or WV will also be considered.
