Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Actuary to join the innovative and fast-paced team. This role involves leading complex actuarial analyses, influencing business decisions, and contributing to team and process development. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, strong ownership from analysis through implementation, and an entrepreneurial spirit. This position offers exposure to a wide array of insurance products and the opportunity to work on a disruptive initiative in the insurance industry.

This is a hybrid role, requiring two mandatory in-office days per week at Stamford, CT location, providing a balance of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $110,000 to $175,000 per year (final compensation based on qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations).

Responsibilities

  • Lead rate indications, reserving analyses, profitability studies, and other actuarial projects across various lines of business, including BOP, Umbrella, Workers' Compensation, and Commercial Auto.
  • Provide actuarial support for diverse products, including liquor liability and catastrophe-exposed perils (flood, earthquake, hurricane, severe convective storm).
  • Support the development and filing of rate changes with regulatory bodies.
  • Develop effective, well-informed solutions by applying business and actuarial expertise.
  • Identify and implement improved methods and processes to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Present analyses and recommendations clearly to influence decisions across all levels.
  • Maintain thorough documentation to ensure work can be understood and reproduced.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior analysts.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Approaching ACAS designation and actively pursuing FCAS.
  • Minimum of 5 years of actuarial pricing/reserving experience in Property & Casualty insurance.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, VBA, or similar data analysis tools.
  • Prior experience with rate filings is preferred.
