Job Summary

Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Insurance Assistant Account Manager to support the operations of the insurance accounts department. This role involves ensuring excellent customer service and facilitating smooth processes for internal teams and external clients. The position works closely with account managers, brokers, and clients to deliver effective service and contribute to the overall growth and success of the company while building expertise in the insurance industry.


Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to account managers in servicing commercial insurance clients.
  • Assist with managing high volumes of client accounts and ensuring timely adherence to deadlines.
  • Address inquiries from clients, underwriters, and stakeholders with professionalism and clarity.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain policy documentation, proposals, certificates of insurance, and related materials.
  • Monitor and track billing, invoicing, and premium payments.
  • Process policy renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements accurately and promptly.
  • Research new and existing clients, including eligibility verification and gathering competitive market information.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of insurance industry regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in optimizing workflows and processes to enhance client service.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify client needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and record-keeping in the management system.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in an administrative or account assistant role, preferably within the insurance industry (commercial insurance experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with insurance management systems or CRM tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical information for clients.
  • Attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and ensure data integrity.
  • A customer-first mindset with a proactive approach to resolving client issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of insurance-related coursework or certifications (e.g., CIC, CRIS, or CISR certifications).
  • Familiarity with commercial insurance products, underwriting, and risk assessment.
  • Experience in a fast-paced team environment.
