Employee Benefits Account Manager - Large Group

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join a team. This role focuses on managing large group accounts, primarily ranging from 200 to 600 lives, with some accounts extending up to 2,000 lives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in self-funded or level-funded benefits plans and a proven ability to manage complex accounts.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range:
    • Account Manager: $80,000 - $100,000
    • Senior Account Manager: $100,000 - $130,000
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package provided

Responsibilities

  • Manage a book of business consisting of 15-20 large group accounts.
  • Prepare accounts for renewal, including working with carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and other stakeholders to ensure smooth renewals for self-funded groups.
  • Market accounts and prepare detailed renewal presentations and spreads.
  • Conduct enrollment meetings and provide guidance to clients on benefit platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal staff and clients to ensure the successful completion of benefit platforms.
  • Quote new and renewal business as needed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and other third-party vendors.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Licenses/Designations: Active Life & Health (L&H) license required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits, with a focus on large group accounts.
    • Experience with self-funded or level-funded plans is highly preferred.
    • Candidates with only small group experience will not be considered.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Employee Navigator or similar benefits management software.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
