Senior Commercial Insurance Account Manager
Job Summary
The position of Senior Commercial Insurance Account Manager involves providing exceptional client service, managing a diverse portfolio of commercial insurance accounts, and fostering strong client relationships. This role also includes mentoring junior staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and account success.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of complex commercial insurance accounts, ensuring clients’ needs are met with a high level of service and professionalism.
- Act as the primary point of contact for inquiries, policy renewals, and mid-term policy adjustments.
- Analyze clients’ insurance requirements and recommend coverage solutions tailored to their business needs.
- Prepare and present proposals, coverage options, and endorsements to new and existing clients.
- Collaborate with underwriters and carriers to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions favorable to the client.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts, renewals, claims, and communications using the agency management system.
- Stay current on market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks relevant to clients' industries.
- Respond to client issues or concerns promptly, striving for rapid resolution and long-term satisfaction.
- Train and mentor account management staff, fostering professional growth and skill development.
- Contribute to the team’s success by participating in projects aimed at process improvement and operational efficiency.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in commercial insurance account management or a similar role.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, or ARM are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of various lines of commercial insurance (e.g., property, liability, umbrella, workers' compensation).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with industry-standard agency management systems (e.g., Applied Epic, AMS360).
- Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to workflow management.
