Commercial Lines Risk Consultant

Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Lines Risk Consultant to join a growing team. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives on building relationships, analyzing risk, and closing business in the middle market sector. The successful candidate will work closely with banking and wealth advisory partners to develop and manage a portfolio of accounts, focusing on industries such as private equity, real estate, manufacturing, transportation, and more. Compensation Package

  • Base Salary: Competitive and negotiable based on experience and performance.
  • Commission Structure:
    • First-year new business commission at 90%.
    • Renewal business commission at 25%.
    • Additional incentives for referrals to the banking division.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with C-suite executives and privately held companies.
  • Prospect and close middle-market accounts with a focus on accounts generating $20,000+ in revenue.
  • Collaborate with banking partners to identify and pursue referral opportunities.
  • Analyze client risk profiles and design tailored risk management programs.
  • Work closely with the internal service team, including Account Managers and Senior Account Executives, to ensure seamless client support.
  • Expand and grow the surety team and other targeted sectors such as hospitality and large general contractors.
  • Meet or exceed annual new business revenue targets of $150,000–$200,000.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience: 5–10 years of experience in commercial insurance, with a proven track record of prospecting and closing middle-market accounts.
  • Licenses: Relevant insurance licenses are required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Applied EPIC or similar CRM software.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
    • Polished and professional demeanor.
    • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
