Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Account Manager / Team Lead – Commercial Lines to join a team. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional client service and advisory support for a portfolio of commercial accounts while leading a team of Commercial Account Managers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial account management and team leadership, with a strong focus on building and maintaining client relationships. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow into a Department Manager role.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 annually
- Bonus Opportunity: Based on company and individual performance

Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of Commercial Account Managers by setting clear priorities, establishing structured work plans, and providing hands-on leadership and support.
- Provide training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Manage and service larger ($150K+ premium) and/or complex commercial client accounts.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Oversee new client onboarding and account renewals, advocating for client interests.
- Identify and address client operational or exposure-based risks, providing appropriate recommendations.
- Resolve coverage questions or deficiencies and address service issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Collaborate with agency management to drive growth, including account rounding and program development.
- Serve as a technical advisor and liaison between insurers and clients.
- Enhance personal and team knowledge through formal and informal educational programs and professional designations.
- Contribute to the improvement of agency processes, workflows, and documentation.
- Attend client visits with producers as needed.
- Adhere to agency processes, procedures, and E&O guidelines.
- Actively participate in department and company meetings.
- Perform additional duties or projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required:
- Valid NJ Property and Casualty Insurance Licenses.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial account management experience within an agency or risk management department.
- At least 2 years of experience leading a team.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Exceptional customer service mindset and skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Familiarity with insurance company rating systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with agency management software.
