Binding Production Underwriter

Job Summary

Seeking dynamic and entrepreneurial professionals to join a team as Binding Production Underwriters specializing in either Commercial Lines or Personal Lines. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and expand a book of business by underwriting new accounts and fostering strong client relationships to drive renewal business.

Compensation Package

• Competitive salary range: $100,000 - $200,000 annually
• Performance-based bonus opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Manage agency relationships and act as the primary client contact.
• Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive new and renewal business.
• Rate, quote, and bind risks, determining acceptability, coverage, and pricing for both new and renewal accounts.
• Submit underwriting referrals to company brokerage facilities and management.
• Monitor key performance metrics and implement corrective actions to optimize new business acquisition, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios.
• Lead, train, and mentor Assistant and Associate Underwriters.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting or brokerage experience (excess & surplus experience preferred).
• Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
• Insurance license, CPCU, CIC, or comparable designations preferred.
