Binding Production Underwriter

Job Summary

Seeking motivated and entrepreneurial individuals to join a team as Binding Production Underwriters specializing in either Commercial Lines or Personal Lines. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and expand a book of business by underwriting new accounts and increasing renewal business. You will work closely with clients to provide tailored insurance solutions for unique, unconventional, and hard-to-place risks. Compensation Package

• Competitive salary range: $100,000 - $200,000 annually
• Performance-based bonus opportunities

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and grow a profitable book of business
• Manage agency relationships and act as the primary client contact
• Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive new and renewal business
• Evaluate, rate, quote, and bind risks to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for both new and renewal accounts
• Submit underwriting referrals to company brokerage facilities and management
• Monitor key performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve new business hit rates, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios
• Lead, train, and mentor Assistant and Associate Underwriters

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting or brokerage experience (excess & surplus experience preferred)
• Proven proficiency in sales and marketing
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Commitment to ongoing education and professional development
• Insurance license, CPCU, CIC, or comparable designations preferred
