Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and expand a profitable book of business.
  • Serve as the primary contact for agency relationships, ensuring exceptional client service.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive new and renewal business growth.
  • Evaluate, rate, quote, and bind risks to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for both new and renewal accounts.
  • Submit underwriting referrals to company brokerage facilities as needed.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and take corrective actions to improve new business hit rates, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Associate Underwriters to foster team growth and success.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience (excess & surplus lines experience preferred).
  • Proven proficiency in sales and marketing within the insurance industry.
  • Insurance license, CPCU, CIC, or comparable designations preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to build and maintain client relationships.
