Accounting Manager / Supervisor

Lead a small team of 3 and manage daily accounting operations within an insurance brokerage. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who understands insurance accounting, is familiar with Epic, and can ensure processes remain organized, accurate, and efficient.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Salary: $85K - $100K

Schedule: In-office

• Manage and mentor a team of 3 across AP, AR, and general accounting functions
• Oversee agency-bill and direct-bill accounting, including reconciliations and cash application
• Ensure accuracy across premium payables/receivables, commissions, and carrier/vendor payments
• Handle month-end close, reporting, and account reconciliations
• Identify gaps, clean up processes, and improve workflows where needed
• Partner with leadership to support financial visibility and operational decisions

Qualifications / Requirements:

• BA/BS degree; Accounting, Finance
• CPA preferred
• Strong background in insurance accounting (agency or brokerage preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Applied Epic (Epic Accounting required)
• Experience managing or leading a small team
• Comfortable in a player/coach role
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to operate in a fast-moving environment
